Strategic Note: A new Honors student from Indiana majoring in nursing, business, architecture, or music. The major restriction makes the pool small, great odds if you're in one of these programs.

Families should know this is a commitment, not just a check: summer program, regular meetings, service hours and a 2.75 GPA every year.

Strategic Note: High-achieving graduates from six specific Peoria-area high schools — East Peoria, Limestone, Manual, Pekin, Peoria, or Richwoods — with at least a 3.25 GPA and demonstrated financial need. This is a hyper-local full-ride-adjacent award; if your student attended one of these schools and meets the criteria, this could be the most valuable scholarship at Bradley.

Strategic Note: High-achieving, service-oriented students who show up with strong academic records and a track record of fostering inclusion and valuing diverse perspectives in their school and community. Named to honor Dr. John Morton-Finney — an African American Butler alumnus who earned 11 degrees and practiced law until age 106 — this award has a 30-year history of investing in students who carry that legacy forward.

Strategic Note: One student a year in the eligible fields whose academic record and scholarship essay stand out. Because it replaces other CWRU aid, the real gain is the gap between your automatic award and full tuition.

Strategic Note: High-achieving incoming freshmen, typically with GPAs of 3.8–4.0 and a strong record of leadership and service, who are selected through CMU's holistic Centralis competition.

Strategic Note: Students who clear the GPA bar, write a genuine personal statement, line up two solid letters of recommendation, and apply by the June 1 deadline. The applicant pool at a school this size is small, so a student with a 3.5 and a real reason for wanting Honors has a serious shot. Filing the FAFSA every year is the part families forget, and skipping it costs you the scholarship.

This is one of the most meaningful awards GVSU offers — a full-tuition scholarship that says to first-gen students, "you belong here, and we're investing in you." Highly selective. If your student is the first in the family to pursue a college degree and has the academic and leadership profile to get into Honors, this is absolutely worth applying for.

Strategic Note: Two CLD program graduates from Indianapolis each year who choose to attend ISU. This is an extremely pipeline-specific award — if your student is in the CLD program and has a 3.0+ GPA, this is a full-tuition opportunity worth pursuing with urgency.

Strategic Note: About 10 outstanding in-state freshman each year who are already admitted to Kelley direct admission and bring a 3.9+ GPA, typically 1450 SAT or 33 ACT, and a strong record of leadership and achievement. This is one of the most competitive business undergraduate scholarships at any public university.

Strategic Note: Top Honors applicants , Indiana residents or one selected international student , who pair exceptional academics with a deep, sustained record of community service and civic engagement.

Strategic Note: First-generation college students and/or income-eligible (family income ≤150% of the federal poverty level) U.S. citizens or permanent residents entering Iowa State directly from high school, with a 3.0+ GPA and compelling essays. DACA and undocumented students are not eligible.

Strategic Note: Ohio families with total income of $75,000 or less who file the FAFSA and enroll full-time at the Kent Campus. Families between $75,001 and $100,000 may qualify for a reduced award of up to $2,000.

Strategic Note: National Merit and National Achievement Finalists who designate Loyola as first-choice with the National Merit Corporation and submit their award letter by March 1. One student receives the full-tuition award; all other eligible finalists receive the $2,000 Loyola-sponsored scholarship.

Strategic Note: Milwaukee-area high school seniors — often first-generation students from financially disadvantaged families — who have a preferred minimum 3.4 GPA and demonstrate genuine leadership and service to their communities. FAFSA is required, so financial need is a real selection factor.

Strategic Note: The strongest Miami applicant from each Ohio county. In smaller rural counties the competition pool is far smaller than in Franklin, Cuyahoga, or Hamilton County.

Strategic Note: The top 20 runners-up at the Spartan Distinguished Scholarship Competition. These are students who went toe to toe with the full-ride winners and came up just short. For an out-of-state family that outcome is still worth roughly $45,000 a year.

Strategic Note: Detroit students with a 3.0 or better who meet the full four-year residency and attendance test and who complete both the Detroit Promise application and the FAFSA. The residency requirement is strict, but for families who clear it this is the closest thing to a tuition guarantee on this page.

Strategic Note: Illinois residents who graduate from an Illinois high school in the 2026-2027 school year, carry a 3.0 or better, land under both the income and asset caps, and file FAFSA by Feb 1. Families in the roughly $80,000 to $115,000 range see the biggest visible award. The lowest-income students often see no Huskie Pledge line at all because Pell and MAP already covered tuition, which is the program working as designed.

Strategic Note: Incoming freshmen who already hold the Platinum Presidential Scholar Award and are enrolled in the Young Honors College. Since Platinum itself requires a 3.90 GPA with a 33 ACT or 1450 SAT, and OU's ACT 75th percentile is 29, the pool this draws from is very small to begin with.

Strategic Note: Chicago and Houston area seniors nominated by a counselor, community organization or Posse alum in June or July, who then make it through Posse's group interview rounds. Leadership and community impact count more than test scores.

Strategic Note: Strong out-of-state applicants (and Ohio residents) who bring genuine leadership and service credentials alongside academic excellence. The Prominence tier covers the full value of in-state tuition plus the nonresident surcharge, effectively full tuition for out-of-state students, which is a significant award at Ohio State.

Strategic Note: Students who have navigated real barriers to get here. Purdue names first-generation college students and students from under-resourced urban and rural communities who have overcome socioeconomic or educational disadvantage. Selection is by holistic review, so the whole application carries your story.

Strategic Note: Students who already have a cause they care about and can say exactly what they intend to do about it. Sustainability, infrastructure, health care, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship all show up in past cohorts. Top academics are the entry ticket, but the program is hunting for self-directed students who will spend four years going deep on one problem and presenting what they learned each year.

Strategic Note: A small, highly selective cohort of incoming freshmen who combine a 3.85+ GPA with compelling leadership and service narratives. Test scores are not required, but your application needs to tell a strong story — the essay, résumé, and interview all matter significantly.

Strategic Note: First-generation students with Mexican heritage or family ties to Mexico, Spanish-language ability, demonstrated financial need, and a real connection to Mexican culture. First-time freshmen and incoming transfers both qualify.

Strategic Note: Top community college transfers who are Dean's Transfer Scholars, have at least 30 transferable credit hours, are working toward or have completed an associate degree from a regionally accredited school, and enter SIU in a Fall term. This is a small, competitive cohort — the award is described as limited in availability.

Strategic Note: First-year domestic students who are Pell-eligible, first-generation, or historically underrepresented in their major — and who are committed to community-based research and civic engagement through the CODES alternative general education pathway.

Strategic Note: First-generation students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds, with a 3.0 GPA preferred, who are admitted into one of the eligible majors. Test scores are optional.

Strong academics are the entry ticket, but demonstrated leadership and service are what separate finalists.

The package goes well beyond tuition, adding a $3,500 annual stipend, a one-time year of on-campus housing and dining worth $15,008, and one-time research and tech enrichment funds.

Strategic Note: Exceptionally well-rounded freshmen who meet at least two of three academic bars (ACT 30 / SAT 1390, top 5% class rank, or 3.5 core GPA) AND demonstrate meaningful leadership and community involvement. The February campus interview is a real differentiator — candidates who can articulate their goals and connect with KC civic leaders stand out.

Strategic Note: Nebraska residents with financial need who are often first‑generation or from underrepresented backgrounds and who want a structured learning community and support services.

Strategic Note: Nebraska residents with strong academic records selected by UNL's admissions-based review as Regents Scholars. This is UNL's full-tuition tier for in-state students — think of it as the step just below the Presidential Scholarship. Renewal is flexible: keep either a 3.500 cumulative GPA or rank in the upper 25% of your college class, and UNL will cover your tuition all the way to graduation.

Strategic Note: National Merit Finalists or Semi-Finalists from North Dakota or Minnesota who list UND as their first-choice school on the National Merit Application. Students from other states may be reviewed individually for eligibility.

Strategic Note: The absolute highest-achieving applicants Notre Dame sees — extraordinary academic records paired with standout leadership, meaningful service, a spirit of innovation, and genuine character. This is a small, elite cohort selected from both the REA and RD pools.

Strategic Note: Strong academic finalists from both in-state and out-of-state pools with the test scores, GPA, leadership, and interview performance to clear USD's premier review. Out-of-state students with a 27+ ACT should absolutely apply — this is the single highest-leverage USD scholarship for non-residents.

Strategic Note: About eight Indiana high school seniors a year who are set on becoming physicians. The bar is a 3.5+ GPA and a single-sitting 27 ACT or 1280 SAT (no superscores), plus essays, three recommendations and an on-campus interview in early December. The payoff is full undergraduate tuition and a provisional seat at IU School of Medicine-Evansville.

Strategic Note: Ten first-year students per cohort with very high financial need, strong academic preparation, and a demonstrated commitment to leadership and community engagement. This program is intentionally designed to open doors for students who might otherwise find a St. Thomas education financially out of reach.

Strategic Note: Lower‑income Wisconsin resident undergraduates whose family income meets state thresholds (around $55,000 AGI system‑wide, with UWL and CRP guidance suggesting benefit up to about $70,000) and whose other grants do not already cover full tuition and fees.

Strategic Note: High-achieving U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have faced meaningful educational, economic, cultural, or social barriers — and who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a drive to give back. Selection is holistic through the admissions review process. No separate application; your admission file is the application.

Strategic Note: Active Indiana Latino Institute members with a 3.25 or better GPA. Valpo also weighs first-generation status, being bilingual with English as a second language, family financial need, and entering a STEM degree program. Two awards a year makes this extremely narrow, but it is one of only two genuine full-tuition paths at Valpo.

Strategic Note: Only two full-tuition awards go to in-state ILI Scholars each year, so it's genuinely selective. The path is clear, though: students already active in the Indiana Latino Institute who meet the 3.0 GPA and program steps are exactly who this is built for.

Strategic Note: WMU reads the whole admission file for this one: activities, honors, leadership, the essay, and letters of recommendation, not just the transcript. Up to 60 semifinalists are pulled from the full applicant pool and interviewed, and up to 20 are named Medallion Scholars. Semifinalists hear in February. The practical implication is that the Common App sections most students rush through are the sections that decide this award.
