Strategic Note: High-achieving graduates from six specific Peoria-area high schools — East Peoria, Limestone, Manual, Pekin, Peoria, or Richwoods — with at least a 3.25 GPA and demonstrated financial need. This is a hyper-local full-ride-adjacent award; if your student attended one of these schools and meets the criteria, this could be the most valuable scholarship at Bradley.

Strategic Note: High-achieving, service-oriented students who show up with strong academic records and a track record of fostering inclusion and valuing diverse perspectives in their school and community. Named to honor Dr. John Morton-Finney — an African American Butler alumnus who earned 11 degrees and practiced law until age 106 — this award has a 30-year history of investing in students who carry that legacy forward.

Strategic Note: High-achieving incoming freshmen, typically with GPAs of 3.8–4.0 and a strong record of leadership and service, who are selected through CMU's holistic Centralis competition.

This is one of the most meaningful awards GVSU offers — a full-tuition scholarship that says to first-gen students, "you belong here, and we're investing in you." Highly selective. If your student is the first in the family to pursue a college degree and has the academic and leadership profile to get into Honors, this is absolutely worth applying for.

Strategic Note: About 18 incoming freshmen each year who meet at least two of three benchmarks (3.8 GPA, 27 ACT / 1270 SAT, top 10% class rank) and shine in an on-campus interview competition. These are ISU's most academically elite recruits — students who are competitive at flagship state universities but are drawn to ISU's tight-knit environment and full-ride value. Scholars must complete the Honors College curriculum, live on campus for three years, attend bi-monthly leadership meetings freshman year, complete a study abroad experience, and contribute ~15 hours of community service annually.

Strategic Note: Indiana's top high school seniors with outstanding academic records and demonstrated leadership in school and community activities. Preference goes to National Merit Scholars. IU nominates a minimum of 30 students across all campuses each year — a very small and selective group.

Strategic Note: First-generation college students and/or income-eligible (family income ≤150% of the federal poverty level) U.S. citizens or permanent residents entering Iowa State directly from high school, with a 3.0+ GPA and compelling essays. DACA and undocumented students are not eligible.

Strategic Note: Ohio resident families with household income at or below $75,000 who file the FAFSA and enroll full-time at the Kent Campus. If you have grants, the Ohio College Opportunity Grant, and a Kent merit scholarship but there's still a tuition gap — this fills it, potentially to zero. Strategic Note: Illinois freshmen who graduate high school in spring 2026, have a 3.0+ cumulative GPA, combined family AGI at or below $115,000, and family assets at or below $115,000 — and who file FAFSA by Feb 1. The strongest Pell/MAP-eligible students may see no Huskie Pledge line item because other aid already covers tuition; mid-income families in the $80K–$115K range are the most likely to see a meaningful award.

Strategic Note: A very small cohort — recently expanded to roughly eight students per year — of incoming Honors College freshmen who are already Platinum Presidential Scholars and demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, and intellectual potential. The 3.50 renewal GPA is notably higher than OU's standard 3.00 merit renewal bar, reflecting the elevated expectations placed on Pescovitz Scholars.

Strategic Note: Previously awarded to national-caliber applicants invited from the early action pool. Not explicitly listed on current 2026–2027 official merit pages — verify annually before sharing with families.

The Hower Taber is the second of UA's two prestigious Honors scholarships — awarded to outstanding freshmen who bring the full package of academic achievement, leadership, and character. If your student is being considered for Buckingham/Orr, they're likely being considered for this one too.

Strategic Note: High-achieving students with a commitment to diversity, community, and leadership — typically 3.0+ unweighted or 3.2+ weighted GPA with strong service and leadership experience. Finalists complete additional steps including an interview. This is a full in-state tuition program, so the value is enormous especially for Ohio residents.

Strategic Note: Undergraduate students who are caregivers of 100% permanently disabled veterans as defined by Ohio's Hidden Heroes initiative. If you're caring for a veteran and need to retrain for a new career, this scholarship is UD's direct answer — and it's a full tuition award.

Strategic Note: National Merit Finalists who list UE as their first-choice school and submit their Certificate of Merit. If that's your student, this is a dead-simple path to zero tuition.

Strategic Note: Exceptionally well-rounded freshmen who meet at least two of three academic bars (ACT 30 / SAT 1390, top 5% class rank, or 3.5 core GPA) AND demonstrate meaningful leadership and community involvement. The February campus interview is a real differentiator — candidates who can articulate their goals and connect with KC civic leaders stand out.

Strategic Note: Nebraska residents with financial need who are often first‑generation or from underrepresented backgrounds and who want a structured learning community and support services.

Strategic Note: Nebraska residents with strong academic records selected by UNL's admissions-based review as Regents Scholars. This is UNL's full-tuition tier for in-state students — think of it as the step just below the Presidential Scholarship. Renewal is flexible: keep either a 3.500 cumulative GPA or rank in the upper 25% of your college class, and UNL will cover your tuition all the way to graduation.

Strategic Note: National Merit Finalists or Semi-Finalists from North Dakota or Minnesota who list UND as their first-choice school on the National Merit Application. Students from other states may be reviewed individually for eligibility.

Out-of-state students with a 27+ ACT should absolutely apply — this is the single highest-leverage USD scholarship for non-residents.

This program is intentionally designed to open doors for students who might otherwise find a St. Thomas education financially out of reach.
