🎓 Southwest Full Tuition Scholarships (2026–2027)

Strategic Note: Enrolled ACU students who have official National Merit Finalist or Semi-Finalist standing, complete the FAFSA, and provide their certificate.

Strategic Note: Arizona residents who graduate from an Arizona high school with at least a 2.50 GPA, enroll full time at ASU in an on-campus degree program, and qualify for Pell-based need. This is state access aid, not a competitive campus merit scholarship.

Strategic Note: Admitted freshmen from families with adjusted gross income under about $50,000 who get the FAFSA and CSS Profile in by Baylor's priority date and are selected through Baylor's need-based review. The honest framing for parents: this is a tuition-affordability program, not a true full ride — Baylor tuition is the thing that gets covered, not the whole bill.

Strategic Note: First-time-in-college freshmen in the top 10% of their class with a recalculated 5.0-scale weighted GPA of 4.40+ (or SAT 1330+/ACT 29+) who write a compelling 500-word essay, secure three strong references, and present well in a committee interview. The committee gravitates toward students who can articulate clear academic goals and who'll thrive inside the Reaud Honors College's cohort environment for all four years.

Strategic Note: Low-income Arizona residents and members of AZ's 22 recognized tribes

Strategic Note: Oklahoma residents who reach National Merit Finalist status and pick OSU as their first-choice school with NMSC.

Strategic Note: Strong residential undergraduates who present a compelling combination of academic record, leadership, service, and alignment with ORU's Christian mission. The university selects only about 12 full-tuition Quest scholars each year, so this is a narrow funnel even among admitted students.

Strategic Note: Texas veterans and eligible dependent children or spouses who meet state residency at enlistment, honorable discharge, and other Hazlewood Act requirements.

Strategic Note: Texas resident freshmen and transfers with family incomes up to $100,000 (the new Fall 2026 ceiling), Pell Grant eligibility, and enough demonstrated financial need to qualify for the grant package. Enroll full-time, file the FAFSA on time, and you're in. The 'commitment' is from SHSU — if you qualify, the tuition piece is covered.

Strategic Note: An extremely small cohort — typically the very top of SMU's admitted pool. Expect students with the most rigorous available curriculum (a minimum of 20 academic units), exceptional leadership, and a track record of impact in their schools and communities. The interview weekend matters: this isn't just about the application.

Strategic Note: A very small, hand-picked cohort of high-achieving Texas seniors — typically National Merit Semifinalists or Finalists — entering select STEM or business majors at A&M. Brown's process is its own beast, separate from A&M's admissions review.

Strategic Note: Approximately the top 1% of applicants — near-perfect grades in the most rigorous curriculum, exceptional writing, impeccable recommendations, and an outstanding record of involvement — who also perform well at the on-campus Chancellor’s Scholars Experience.

Strategic Note: Two or three first-year students per year, period. You need to be planning a STEM major from Trinity's approved list, apply Early Decision or Early Action by Nov 1, submit the separate Semmes application by Nov 8, and survive to the campus finalist event in early February. Income doesn't factor in — this is pure academic and research promise.

Strategic Note: A very small number of exceptional incoming Franke Honors students each year, selected through essays, a resume, and interviews.

Strategic Note: National Merit Finalists — full stop. The pipeline starts with the PSAT/NMSQT junior year (you need to score in roughly the top 1% of your state to advance to Semifinalist, then complete the Finalist application packet). Once a student earns Finalist status from NMSC, the UH award is automatic if they name UH as their first-choice institution by the NMSC deadline. There is no separate competitive review at UH and no GPA, test score, or class rank floor beyond what NMSC already screens for.

Strategic Note: Top Texas freshmen who hit at least one of the academic triggers (top 15% class rank, ACT 24+, or SAT 1170+), write a compelling 700-word essay, and apply by the February 1 priority deadline.

Strategic Note: National Merit Finalists who name UNM their first-choice school. NMSC Finalist status is the only gate — if you have it and you commit to UNM, this award is essentially yours.

Strategic Note: Oklahoma residents whose family income is at or below $60,000 (qualifying them for Oklahoma's Promise) and who still have a tuition gap after Promise and Pell. For these families, Crimson Commitment is OU's guarantee that tuition will be fully covered for four years.

Strategic Note: High-achieving Texas residents with a real track record of leadership and service who also have clear financial need. The Terry team is looking for future leaders, not just transcripts — students who can talk about impact, growth, and grit in essays and interviews tend to advance.

Strategic Note: A very small cohort (roughly 15–20 a year) with national-caliber academics, sustained leadership over years rather than a list of one-off activities, and a clear story about impact. Stats alone won't get a student to the finalist weekend — judges want to see who they are.

Strategic Note: National Merit Finalists who get admitted to UT Dallas, lock in UT Dallas as their first choice with NMSC before the NMSC deadline, and apply early — the program notes that space is limited.

Strategic Note: Standout incoming engineering students — think near-perfect academics, a real leadership track record, and obvious engineering aptitude. UTEP describes Loya Scholars as future high-achieving, leadership-oriented engineers, so reviewers will be looking for kids who already act the part.

Strategic Note: Texas high school graduates with strong academics, leadership, and demonstrated financial need who are selected by the Terry Foundation and UTSA after a finalist interview round — this is a partnership program, not a UTSA-only award.

Strategic Note: Strong freshmen UTRGV selects when academic strength and demonstrated financial need align. Effectively a near-full package for the students UTRGV most wants to keep on campus.

Strategic Note: Current UT Tyler undergraduates who have completed at least one full year on campus, hold a 3.0+ cumulative UT Tyler GPA, and have the kind of presence — strong communication, leadership track record, deep connection to the university — that makes them a natural face of UT Tyler at presidential, donor, and community events.
