Who qualifies for VCAN?
First-year students who are Pell Grant eligible based on the FAFSA and live within 45 miles of NSU’s campus. It covers tuition for a limited number of students, so apply for admission and file the FAFSA early.

Is the VCAN radius 25 miles or 45 miles?
NSU’s VCAN page mentions both. The body of the page and Virginia’s state listing say 45 miles, while an older summary line still says 25. If your address is anywhere near the edge, call Financial Aid and ask directly.

How does the Spartan Family Plan work?
When two or more immediate family members are enrolled at NSU at the same time, the family can apply for a need-based reduction to the final balance. What is the CSET Scholarship?

Cybersecurity and Computer Science: NSU’s cybersecurity institute (IA-REDI) is recognized by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education.
