There are two scholarship clocks, not one. The automatic grid awards just need official transcripts and scores by June 30. The General Scholarship Application is a separate form with a November 15 priority and February 15 final deadline. Skip it, and you miss the departmental and donor money.

Tier 1 lists $10,000 ($4,000 for tuition and fees, $6,000 for Honors housing) with priority for a 31 ACT or 1400 SAT. Tier 2 lists $6,700 ($3,500 for tuition and fees, $3,200 for Honors housing) with priority for a 30 ACT or 1370 SAT. Both renew for up to three more years for freshmen.
Do students apply separately for each Honors scholarship?
No. One Honors scholarship application considers students for Regents, Tier 1, and Tier 2 at the same time.
What GPA keeps an Honors scholarship?
A 3.5 cumulative GPA plus full-time enrollment and program expectations. Students who fall short get at least one grace semester. They do not need to reapply each year.
Can transfer students get Honors scholarships?
Yes, for Tier 1 and Tier 2. Transfer sophomores can renew for up to two more years and transfer juniors for one. Regents is for first-time freshmen only.
Fort Hays State sits in Hays, out on the western Kansas plains. It is a practical, career-focused university that keeps costs low and gives students hands-on experience. Signature Program: Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science (KAMS). FHSU is home to the state’s residential early-college academy for gifted high school juniors and seniors. KAMS students live on campus, take classes from FHSU faculty, and can finish high school with more than 60 college credits. It tells you something about FHSU: Kansas trusts it with its most advanced young STEM students.
Business & Entrepreneurship: The Robbins College of Business and Entrepreneurship covers accounting, finance, management, marketing, and informatics. It also runs the Robbins Banking Institute and the Dane G. Hansen Entrepreneurship Hall.
Agriculture: Students train on a 3,825-acre university farm, and graduates go on to run farms, manage feedlots, trade grain, and lead agribusiness companies.
Physics & Pre-Engineering: A small department with research expectations, NASA Scholar funding through the Kansas Space Grant Consortium, and more scholarships per student than many larger programs.
Education, Nursing & Criminal Justice: Popular, career-ready majors that feed directly into jobs in Kansas and the surrounding region.
Online Degrees: FHSU has built a large online program, which means flexibility for students who start on campus and need to finish from home.
