- “Out-of-state” at CCSU is not what you expect. Every U.S. student from outside Connecticut pays the Domestic/NEBHE rate, about $16,470 a year in tuition and fees. Do I have to live in New England to get the NEBHE rate?
No. CCSU calls it the “Domestic/NEBHE” rate, and it covers U.S. students from any state. CCSU’s tuition page does not tie it to a specific major, so a student from Florida and a student from Vermont pay the same thing.

For 2026-2027, a standard residence hall room runs $3,837 per semester, and first-year students living on campus choose one of the two Essential meal plans ($2,899 or $2,999 per semester). Do ACT or SAT scores matter for merit?

When is the CCSU Foundation scholarship application open?
Every year from early November to mid-December. Students get an email from CCSU when it opens, and the awards are for the following academic year.
How many scholarships does one application cover?
CCSU says more than 300 scholarship funds are awarded through the general application. A handful of very specific funds ask for one more step after you submit.
Can high school seniors apply?
Incoming first-year students are considered for merit automatically at admission. The general Foundation application is for current, matriculated students, so it becomes your student’s job starting the fall of freshman year.
Does CCSU offer any full-ride scholarships?
Not as an institutional program for incoming freshmen. The largest freshman award combination is Central Merit plus the $4,500 Honors scholarship. Students interested in ROTC can pursue Army or Air Force ROTC scholarships through programs hosted at UConn.

Honors Program at Central Connecticut State University
CCSU has an Honors Program (not a separate Honors College), and it is the single best add-on for a strong student. Admission is not automatic. Students apply separately, and the reward is a $4,500 yearly scholarship on top of Central Merit, plus small classes and first dibs on registration.
